***This episode is brought to you by CarboRocket***
Drew is coming off a recent win at the second NUE series race, Syllamo's Revenge. Today is the first day of the Trans-Sylvania Mountain Bike Epic and he is nice enough to join Mountain Bike Radio to discuss today's stage, how he is feeling coming off a good race last week, and how he feels going into the rest of the week.
In addition to being an accomplished endurance coach, Drew is a very talented mountain bike racer. He began racing mountain bikes in 2005 in the sport division and quickly moved up to the expert class.
In 2007, when he achieved top ranking as a semi-pro, he moved up to the professional level. Although he excels at endurance racing and stage racing, you will also see Drew racing in his favorite cross-country races, cyclo-cross races and Xterra.
Prior to being a mountain bike racer, Drew was a three-time decathlon champion in college and traveled the world playing soccer in high school. He is currently sponsored by Kenda/Felt, Hammer Nutrition, Fox Forks, Sun Harvest Citrus, & endurancefactor.com.
Drew's goals for 2012 include achieving several top-10 finishes in the national pro XCT races, and getting on the podium at the TSE Stage Race in Pennsylvania.
In 2011, Drew achieved several top-15 finishes at the national races, took 5th at the TSE, and placed 4th, behind Giant/Rabobank's Adam Craig, at Pisgah.
